State Fair Kicks Off Friday – ‘Save Our Water Day’ is Sept. 1
The California State Fair opens Friday in Sacramento, and the “Save Our Water” public education program will play a starring role at the Department of Water Resources’ 4,000-foot exhibit.
Located inside County Building B, the exhibit will feature colorful panels explaining California’s water supply, history and challenges and interactive games and activities for children. Several ACWA member agencies will be making kid-friendly presentations at the exhibit, including El Dorado Irrigation District, Municipal Water District of Orange County and Regional Water Authority.
In addition, Sept. 1 is “Save Our Water Day” at the fair. The day will include giveaways to the first 1,000 families through the gates, performances by Radio Disney, and a special “Passport to Water Savings” activity for children. The fair runs Aug. 21 through Sept. 7.
