A recent cycle of grants from the EPA was interested in establishing total maximum daily loads (TMDLs) for chlorpyrifos (Lorsban) and from a quick scan of the research, it seems that while human safety profiles are great, we have concerns with the much greater toxicity on fish and honeybee populations in areas with heavy use (alfalfa and almonds).
